We are done.
Sorrento to Naples. Naples - rough, gritty. The other side of the sandpaper to oh-so-smooth Rome. Highlight: The Archaeological Museum which houses, perhaps, one of the finest collections of Roman sculpture and preserved fresco and mosaic from Pompeii.
Naples to Venice. EasyJet. It was.
Venice. Perhaps the greatest surprise of all and a lesson of travel. A gorgeous little hotel a mile from the airport. Shuttle to and from as well as scheduling a terrific dinner for us. Proseco toast. Pasta. Perfecto. Grilled meats from a giant brick oven. I love traveling with my family. Amazing. NOTE: If you are traveling to Venice, talk to us. We have addresses for both this great hotel and restaurant.
Venice to Frankfurt. So much security. Five stops. Frisked. I am grateful but tired.
Frankfurt to Philadelphia. Four movies. Customers who needed to bath more frequently. No sleep.
Philadelphia to San Francisco. Free upgrade to first class......mmmmmmm. sleep. foooood. Conversation with a charming grade student from Jodhpur, India.
Home: Dear Katherine and Toshio. Cared for our pooch and us. Bagels and soup at my house. We slept. None of the Venetian glass broke. Laundry under control.
Snug under my covers, writing.
Coffee. Yes, I heated the milk.
